King Tide Screenplay

I wanted to try writing a straight horror project with the energy of Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead. The idea follows a group of college students home for the weekend who attend a house party hosted by a socialite recently returned from a semester abroad. Unbeknownst to everyone—including her—she has come back possessed by an ancient demon and has arranged the party as a mass human sacrifice. I first sketched it as a novel, but the story never quite clicked. After talking with a screenwriter friend and consulting on a developing thriller script, I decided to try screenwriting myself. I was aiming for a horror comedy with the same level of over-the-top gore Evil Dead was famous for. I hope you enjoy, let me know what you think.
